Preston Pest Control Fleas
Contrary
to popular myth fleas do not live on cats and dogs they merely hop on
to feed, nor can they breed on human blood so a cat, dog or
fox is needed for a flea infestation to develop.
As
all development stages of the flea will be found in the habitat of the
host, it is essential that this area is thoroughly treated. If there is
any pet that might carry fleas then this animal must be treated using
an insecticide shampoo or treatment obtainable from your veterinarian.
The
bedding of the animal must be cleaned regularly. If you use a vacuum
then it is advisable to use a small amount of crawling insect powder
inside the bag.
It is often necessary to make two treatment visits as flea eggs and
pupae have a high degree of resistance to insecticides and can survive
without feeding for many months.
